HORROR AT THE HYLAND

A24 has become known for its many forays into the horror genre, but one film made A24 and horror synonymous, Hereditary. A genuinely scary film, it also deals with very important themes, most notably grief and family. Toni Collette gives a powerhouse performance (for which she was snubbed at the Oscars) as a mother struggling with her emotions after the passing of her own mother. Through unravelling mysteries and secrets, the film makes quite clear, the importance of loving and respecting your mother. Happy Mother's Day from the Hyland Cinema.
