PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE

50TH ANNIVERSARY!

JUNE 29TH AT 9:30PM!

DIRECTED BY THE LEGENDARY BRIAN DE PALMA! RELEASED A YEAR BEFORE THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW!

After record producer Swan (Paul Williams) steals the music of songwriter Winslow Leach (William Finley) and gives it to one of his bands, Leach sneaks into Swan's offices. Catching Leach, Swan frames him for dealing drugs, which lands him in prison. After Leach breaks out and again attempts to sabotage Swan's empire, an accident crushes his face. Leach then dons a costume and becomes the Phantom, intent on ruining Swan while saving singer Phoenix (Jessica Harper) from a terrible fate.

PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE - FILM REVIEWS

"A crazy, savage film -- iconoclastic and truly liberating." - RICHARD SCHICKEL, TIME MAGAZINE

"[Brian De Palma] has combined comedy, drama and satire into an enormously entertaining musical film. Instead of treating rock music with religious awe in a documentary, he has, in short, made a movie, and an original one." - G.J. FLEMING, ORLANDO SENTINEL

"It is wild and weird and almost steadily hypnotic. It's probably the most original rock movie yet made" -KEVIN KELLY, THE BOSTON GLOBE
